The 2017 Roy Reed lecturer is TV critic, columnist, radio personality, non-fiction author and university professor David Bianculli. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of tvworthwatching.com. He is also known as television critic for NPR’s Fresh Air.
His 2009 book, Dangerously Funny: The Uncensored Story of the “Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour,” has been purchased for film rights. His The Platinum Age of Television: From I Love Lucy to The Walking Dead, How TV Became Terrific, was published last year.
The lecture takes place at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House at the corner of Maple Avenue and Razorback Road, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017. It is open to the public with no admission charge.
